I am currently a research director at Google, where I am heading the Syntec team within Android XR. We work on digital humans in the context of virtual and augmented reality, focusing on capture, reconstruction, appearance acquisition, generative modeling, and synthesis. My team is a horizontal research to product team, and our foundational technology is powering many XR technologies, such as Natural User Input (Face, Hand, Eye & Body Tracking) and Likeness. Prior to that I was a research scientist at Disney Research | Studios where I built up the Capture and Effects group, focusing on digital humans for film, producing the following products: Information on our academy award winning seated high-quality dense performance measurement system Medusa can be found here.
